My brother has his final radiotherapy tomorrow. He has also started on herceptin.
He still cannot walk - when he was taken into hospital to deal with the pain part of the problem was that his legs stopped working, they just couldn't hold him up and even sitting down he fell of a chair. The cancer had moved to his back - a tumour on his spine - hence the radiotherapy.
There are going to be some adaptations at his home during this week - changes to the loos, and making it more possible for him to get around. There seems to be quite a big issue about whether or not he will ever be able to walk again - I'm guessing that they don't think he will be able to do much because of doing the changes - if this was just temporary they wouldn't bother (by 'they' I mean the macmillan/hospice care team).
A plus is that I posted about him on a fb page that is for our old school (the Old Wits page). Several of long lost/forgotten friends have been in touch and want to be in touch with him - which is really cheering him up - some he hasn't seen since 1977 when he left!
Thanks for continued prayers.
