Newest diagnosis - NOT atrial fibrillation

Postby TamieJP » Tue May 01, 2012 2:20 pm

Asthma is the cause of my shortness of breath. I had to breath into a Spirometry. He said that it showed an obstruction. Then I had to breath into another device which also demonstrated an obstruction. Then I was given a breathing treatment of albuteral. Tested again just a bit better. The second device (Peak Flow Meter) was not computerized, just a plastic device with a spot that moved toward numbers. I blew threw it 7 times. 275, 300, 300 Treatment 275 ( I don't think I got my mouth on the device correctly), 300, 300, 350.

I'm not completely convinced but hope it is the answer and that I can keep up with the girls at scouts with medication.

The 48 hour halter EKG Monitor was 'mostly normal'. He asked if I felt the flutter/vibration while wearing it. I did.

Today's visit with the vertigo specialist keeps the diagnosis the same, Migraine Associated Vertigo. The doctor really does not like that diagnosis but it's the closest he's able to determine.

He doubled the nortriptyline that is given for Migraines - off label. I see him again in a month.
