Prayer, please--not major

The side of my face behind my jawbone hurts a lot. I have had soreness in that area for years, but this feels like it might be a salivary gland blockage or mumps (very doubtful I have mumps since I feel great otherwise). BUT--it's not swollen. I did have a huge blockage 2.5 years ago with lots of swelling--went to the ER doctor who told me to eat lemon drops, etc., which I did and it went away (it was a blocked gland).

I also have a sore tooth that has given me grief for years and had a root canal last December. I think that same might be the cause of problems, but if it's pulled, then I have no lower teeth on that side (I lost the one in front and in back of it due to my bulimic days). At this point I want it out, but I do enjoy eating. The other side of my mouth has a bridge due to my car accident 7 years ago, so that would be the only side with which I could chew if I had the tooth removed.

40 years ago this same side was so swollen due to my bulimic days that I had an extensive xray called a parotid cylogram in the area. They thought I had a tumor (no one knew about bulimia). I didn't.

I'll be seeing an oral surgeon this Wednesday so I'm hoping he can give me some answers. Thank you for your prayers!
