What's for dinner?

Postby HeyThereDelilah » Wed Apr 04, 2012 10:10 am

I have lentils with onions and spices in the crockpot and a nice, large piece of beef in the oven. When the beef is done, I'll cut it up and add it to the lentils. We used to add ham to our lentils, but since we don't eat ham/pork products anymore, I use beef. Smells yummy in here! :)

They guys are having skyline chili because I can pull the chili out of the freezer and ds can make the pasta. I'm going to have pasta with basil pesto on it since I can't have spicy foods yet.

I was watching Rachel Ray today while I'm laying around recovering and she made pesto out of kale. It looked really really good!

David doesn't have much of an appetite, so sometimes I give him horrible things like bologna sandwiches, which is what he loves. Tonight I made a grilled cheese with fried bologna sandwich (I put the bologna on a hot frying pan first to sear it and give it more flavor). I also made him a salad with organic stuff, which seems weird since he had the junky, horrible bologna. :P

We had taco salad substituting Baby Spinach for the iceberg lettuce. I was amazed at how wonderful it tasted BUT I did NOT go back for seconds!

I am doing much better at portion sizes and not returning for seconds. I did however eat left-over lasagna as a snack because I could not stop thinking of food. I should have just gone to bed and turned off the lights. I'd have fallen asleep before I starved to death. :P

My mom used to make my brother and me fried bologna sandwiches! We really liked them. I haven't had one in eons! We also like potato chips on a bologna sandwich ~ not the fried, but cold from the frig with cheese and mustard. I also haven't had one of those in ages either!
Did you ever stop to think, and forget to start again?.
