Ok, please give me your honest opinion of this movie. Yes, I'm talking about the old Hitchcock film. I have never seen it.

It's meant to be a scary movie. If you are sensitive to that sort of thing, you may want to skip it.
Otherwise, it is well done and worth watching.

Watched it when I was 11, I think. Terrified me. Now I just find it really entertaining to watch. Never looked at groups of birds the same way, however. To this day, when I see a huge group of birds on a wire or some other place, I'll say to David, "THE BIRDS IS COMING!! THE BIRDS IS COMING!!" (The reason for the bad grammar is that "Mad" Magazine did a parody of the movie and said that in it.)

I tend to like some Hitchcock movies, however. Strangers on a Train, North by Northwest, Man Who Knew Too Much (newer version), Rear Window, Dial M for Murder (I think that's the one which has a fax machine in it--decades before faxes were used!), and The Lady Vanishes come to mind.

Oh yes, I know it is a scary movie. From what I have read, older scary movies aren't like the scary movies of today. I have read this one might have some disturbing scenes (eyes..that's all I'm saying). I have found it's a little more difficult to gauge the s*xual innuendos in older movies. It says the innuendos are so "couched" they'll slide right over the heads of any kids watching. I wish they'd give more info because I like to know if I even want to watch it. I'm guessing it can't be that bad. It's such an old movie. They didn't really put bad stuff in old movies, did they?

I watched it when I was a kid also--I was terrified. I didn't scare easily--but that one did it. I don't recall any innuendos--but I was a very naive kid and if there were any, they went right over my head. I have not ever watched it again. I am still the kind of person that if something I'm watching gets too intense--I get up and leave the room. I left the room a lot during that movie.

Alfred Hitchcock was one of the first to show a woman (Janet Leigh) in her br@, having an affair, in "Psycho." However, when I first saw Psycho I didn't even pick up on that. There are innuendos in many old movies, but since they weren't blatant we often didn't always 'get' them. Yeah, we probably wouldn't have our 11yo watch it because she is easily frightened. Our teens would probably find it interesting. It's hard because, before I was a Christian, I used to love scary movies. Now...I just can't watch them. They have such an evilness to them. However, I've heard that older movies were different...they are more suspenseful (which I like). Still undecided on this movie. Since our Clearplay subscription has expired, I'm having to rearrange the movies in my Netflix queue.

I'm not a huge fan of scary movies and don't watch many, unless they are classics (saw Rosemary's Baby a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it!).

I thoroughly enjoy some of Hitchcock's, though (especially Psycho, Strangers on a Train, North by Northwest, Rear Window, Rope, and The Birds). All of these movies are suspenseful to me. I don't feel any evil, Genesis, and I am disturbed by many scary movies because of that evil feeling that you mentioned.

I recommend the movie for your teens.

I like the ones Katie likes. I don't sense an 'evil' spirit in them--just old-fashioned suspense. I've started to watch some movies and immediately felt a real check in the spirit about them. I haven't felt that about the Hitchcock movies I like.

Yes, that is what I meant...that I heard older scary movies didn't have that evilness to them. The scary movies I grew up with and the modern ones are full of evil.
