Can I write this off?

At work, our dress code changed effective Jan. 1. We can no longer wear scrubs. We now wear dress clothes. Since I lost 20 pounds over the last year (WOOHOO!), I had to buy a new wardrobe because none of my stuff fit. If I include the new policy, with the date the new dress code goes into effect, is there a way to write off all of the new clothes I had to buy? (Well, actually, I only bought a few "new" ones and they were on clearance for less than than all the used items from resale shops.)

Better ask a tax accountant (maybe forums somewhere?) -- it looks like it could go either way to me. 2% limit, though, on a deduction, so it's probably not worth it anyway.

p. 3, Unreimbursed Employee Expenses
Work clothes and uniforms if required and not suitable
for everyday use.

:yeahthat

For me, I'd much rather wear scrubs instead of having to buy clothes and figure out what to wear every day.

And when I'm in a hospital, I really prefer seeing people in uniforms. Our receptionists don't wear scrubs, however.
