Not a big deal, but I just finished reading the "best dog story ever" post in the cup of tea forum. I noticed the word dam with the not-nice spelling was in the article (the original, Sherri copy/pasted, I'm sure) and wasn't **** out. How come it didn't get censored?

I'm not trying to complain or tattle, but I thought the software was set up to censor that kind of stuff.

I wish we could earn money for all the really touching, but totally untrue, stories there are on the internet.

I saw your post and snoped it myself. I love the creative writing that people do! It's very touching....

But, my question was why the cuss word wasn't censored out? Our software does that, right? So how come this one was missed? Because it was a copy/paste? Just wondering.

Here's how the software works. When you install it, there is an option to use a word filter. To set that up, I had to think up every, single word I didn't want people to be able to type, along with the word or symbols with which I wanted it replaced. For most of the words, I just typed **** as the replacement word, but I have this weird sense of humor, so I typed "Richard" as the replacement for the nickname.

I apparently forgot about the other spelling of dam. Thinking up and typing all of those words is a very strange task! There are probably lists of naughty words available on the internet for this purpose, but I figured I was probably familiar with most of them. I was reluctant to search for a list, because I knew the results of such a search would be peppered with some really icky stuff.

I'll go add that word.
