3rd trimester -- homestretch

Postby Erin Grace » Fri Jun 03, 2011 11:20 am

Thought I'd update. ( I haven't been on in awhile since I'm so rarely on an actual computer or netbook. My phone is my main internet go to --- hmmm, maybe the Swap needs its own app for iphone and droid!! :) )

Anyway, I'm 29 weeks + days and feeling really pregnant. It's been a breeze so far but now I'm simply huge and beginning to get uncomfortable. I have something (forget it's technical name) but oh, it aches my hips and makes it so very painful to separate my legs (as in putting on pants, going up stairs, etc.) I figure all this discomfort is the only thing that makes me look forward to labor so it's all in His plan :D

I failed my 1 hour glucose test; and supposedly passed my 3 hour test. Well, ONE of the test numbers came back high so one of my doctors wanted me to meet with nutritionist and I wouldn't have to test blood sugars etc. But then I met with another doctor this week from same practice and she said, no, you do have GD and you need to meet with GD Counselor and test sugars 4x daily. Neither would change their diagnosis and I sat in limbo until today when one finally conceded. So now I am meeting with the GD Counselor for a three hour appt next week. I really don't care. I'd prefer to err on the side of caution as long as it's minimal. I have had 2 9# babies already and would like to not go with a larger baby than those! (Seeing as how I don't get to use drugs for labor--and I would REALLY REALLY REALLLLLY prefer drugs!!! it just isn't an option for me)

Other than that, things have been easy. We don't know if it's boy or girl in there. I'm figuring girl since I've only birthed girls. And I'd be thrilled with another little princess!!! And, I'd be thrilled with a little brother for Caleb too. WIN WIN either way :grinning

Appreciating prayer for the remainder of the pregnancy to go as smoothly as the rest has gone. This is the hardest for me. I get pretty grouchy towards the end :2lol

I'm so glad you stopped by to update. I am super excited for you! If we get pg again, we want to be suprised this time. Were you suprised with your other babies? I am praying the GD does not cause any problems and for the rest of the pregnancy to fly by without any complications. Also praying for a safe labor and delivery. Pop in and keep us posted when you can. :hug :blessyou

Nope, with the others we peeked and knew we were having girls. With Caleb we knew ahead too.

The only thing that stinks with not knowing is that EVERYTHING is gender specific now. Outfits in yellow will still have dinosours or ruffles. Even strollers and infant seats and all that lean one way or the other. It makes being prepared ahead of time hard. I'm buying a couple picture/take home outfits for boy and girl and will return what I don't need. I've prepped the baby bed with the bedding from the little girls (it is so pretty and I still LOVE it -- not to mention it cost a FORTUNE). If we have a boy, I will have a boy theme picked out to replace what's already there. I just love to play in the baby stuff and not knowing is definitely harder than knowing. :grinning

I know, that's the hard thing. We've never been surprised but if we get pg again, we'd like to be. I've thought of doing the same thing you're doing. Buying a few outfits for each gender to bring baby home in and pics...stuff like that.

That baby will be here before you know it. :D

Did I miss why you can't use medication for labor (like an epidural?)?
