And, yes, I did say he "WAS" bilingual...when he was 5yo he heard a neighbor boy say it was embarrassing to speak Spanish and that was also the time when he stopped spending the weekends with my parents.

ME, funny you mention this but my generation was the first to learn English first. My mother's first language was Italian, then Spanish, then English. My mom and grandmother tried teaching me Spanish when I was around 3yo but I thought it was embarrassing. Can't tell ya how that makes me want to kick myself now!
