At least I probably am!
I had an appt yesterday with my urologist. She had the results of my urodynamics test which I had about 4 or 5 months ago! She has been very booked up - I'm not surprised, she is very nice and very able. You don't feel embarrassed at all talking with her about 'issues'!
Anyway - whilst they could do the sling op to hold everything up - she felt that the risk of making the irritable bladder bit worse maybe, at this stage meant it might not be the immediate best option - she said no point in not having stress incontinence if I needed to go to the loo every two mins!!
I'm trying another medication that might work better, give it a month and if it doesn't then see my normal dr and change it - there are another few meds I could try - in the meantime I'm on the list to have botox. That counts as a day op. as I will be given a general anasthetic whilst they put the botox in place. If one of the meds is wonderful and does all it is meant to do then I don't need the botox and I can refuse it.
The only thing I don't like about it is that for a few days afterwards there is a slight risk that I might not be able to empty my bladder fully so will have to pass a catheter sometimes for a few days - not too sure I want to do that bit!! But I might not need to!
It really makes me laugh to say I'm going to have botox....all I see in my minds eye are those people with frozen faces who have had it - I sort of see my bladder with frozen eyebrows raised in a surprised look!
