I didn't know it when I started watching, but it is a true story of a Chinese ballet dancer who is chosen to go to study in Huston for 3 months. Very good movie....I needed a tissue for the last 15 minutes. Beautiful dancing and a moving story.

Parental warnings: I recall one incident of swearing using the word for a female dog. One scene that a girl tries to explain to the Chinese dancer that she is a virgin but he doesn't understand. And barely dressed dancers.

I thought I posted about this somewhere. We LOVED it, for obvious reasons (ballet!). I bought it for Madeleine for Christmas. I didn't notice the barely dressed dancers, but I'm probably more used to ballet costumes than most people (and most of the female dancers aren't very well endowed anyway). I just remembered that male dancers do wear very tight fitting costumes. I'm so used to it that I don't notice, but it may be a surprise to those who don't watch ballets often.

That one scene about her virginity was actually pretty funny. I loved the lack of graphic s3x.

We really liked the bonus material about all the dancers they had to get.

I DO notice, and then spend a lot of time trying to figure out what ELSE they could wear (and not ummm ...show so much).

If you see it enough, it means nothing. Unfortunately, most people don't see as much of the ballet as I do so they do notice. I don't know what they could do because the men actually are wearing something called a dance belt. You can google it to see what I mean. I wondered about using what hockey goalies or football players wear (use your imagination), but then it would be reaaaaallly noticeable and also difficult to dance (almost comical). And when they partnered it would be most uncomfortable for everyone involved.

You might have posted it sometime, but I missed it. I watched it on Netflix instant view. There's not an option for bonus material then.

You might have posted it sometime, but I missed it. I watched it on Netflix instant view. There's not an option for bonus material then.

I didn't know it was even on instant.

Others might not even like the bonus material as much as we did because it's all about dancing.
