Pioneer Woman cookbook

Postby mom2g2b » Mon Jun 11, 2012 4:53 am

I checked out the Pioneer Woman Cooks cookbook from the library. I may try some of the recipes, but it seems like there are a lot of ingredients for some of the stuff. I am going to try the cheesy grits first. Does anyone have a favorite recipe from that book?

You mean her first cookbook? We really like the tomato soup recipe in that one.
Did you ever stop to think, and forget to start again?.

They're good... however, you can read any Oklahoma and Texas area Junior Forum cookbook from 20 or 30 years ago and find virtually the same recipes.

Her chocolate sheet cake is the same recipe that my grandmother used and that I now use.

It is hard to come up with something new and unique with recipes -but she has a beautiful presentation of them!

It's too hot to bake things right now (no AC here), so I'm going to wait to try some of her things. I didn't know there was more than one cookbook by her. The name of the one I checked out was The Pioneer Woman Cooks.
