I shall not covet, I shall not covet...

Nice stash!! I did great CDing my now 3yo, but I was having a hard time with my 9mo old. I'm having a hard time keeping up with laundry in general and adding in the diapers was pushing me over the edge.

Oh, and I tried flats this time. I LOVE them! Okay, the edges drove me a bit nuts, but they wash well and dry SOO fast!!!

I've been using cloth diapers since #5(Abigail is now 12.) I made flannel AIOs back then, and then by the time #9,Priscilla, was born(7 years ago tomorrow!) I was in love with pockets, and was making them exclusively. Of course, she will always need to wear diapers, so I'll always be able to try making new styles.

Also, I've been involved with The Cloth Diaper Foundation(formerly Miracle Diapers), first as a sewer/repairer from 2007 to Chapter Manager since 2009. ( http://www.clothdiaperfoundation.org/) (http://www.facebook.com/clothdiaperfoundation)We help lower income families to be able to cloth diaper.

I was always leery about mama cloth, but once I started, I hope to never have to go back. Of course, its too late to convince my girls-3 out of 5 already have their menses.) It certainly saves a LOT of money, and is so much more comfortable...

My name is Connie, and I am a cloth diaper failure. I have cloth diapered on and off for years (with ten kids, you can do that) When my son was 13 months old, we got the foster kids by surprise (13 months and 2 months) and with 3 kids in diapers and being really overwhelmed with everything else we had to do with 9 kids 3of which being babies, there was just no way to keep up with laundry.

Two of them are now 3 and have been potty trained for a while. I was down to one in diapers and I still didn't go back to cloth. I thought about going back to them when jitter bug was born but I just haven't.

I don't even have a stash anymore and quite honestly, after almost 19 years of diapers, I just don't want to. For some reason, in the big scope of things, it just seems like buying cloth all over again for just a year and half or so is not cost efficient. Did I mention I just don't want to. I don't even want to look at the really cute diapers because, yes it is very addicting and really, I just don't want to. *sigh* is it wrong of me to just not want to?

No worries Connie. Everyone has their comfort zones and one of the beauties of the time we live in is that there are many choices out there. In your situation, I probably would have made the same choice. I had the opportunity to do the math before SJ was born and I even ordered some fabric for a trial run at making them.

I had the added concern that my only other child had been allergic to most brands of disposable diapers.
