I do no have stats as of yet.

Prayer request: Amy was Group B Positive so the baby might have to stay at the hospital.

Congratulations! :ptl

Do you mean Group B Strep? If so, didn't they test that beforehand? I was given antibiotics with Madeleine's delivery because I tested positive, and they were going to send me home hours after delivery (they didn't because M's blood sugar was too low, so they sent me home a few more hours after that), but the group B wouldn't have kept me in.

I had looked it up and Amy told me that they got two IV doses of antibiotic in so I figured there'd be no question but she said that they are trying to insist that they stay a full 48hours. Amy says that she already made a pediatrician appointment for tomorrow so she has all intentions of coming home TODAY.

Congrats! What a pretty name!

I was positive for Group B Strep with #3. I had her 1 hour and 17 minutes after I arrived at the hospital so I don't even know if they got one full dose of antibiotics in me, but I know they didn't get two in me. Baby was fine, though. :)

Adorable picture!!

Like Gen, I was home right away (19 hours in the hospital, total which included labor). Maybe it's some insurance regulation there.

You must have misread my post. I had her right away, LOL. I did not go home right away.

That's the beauty of reading things on a 2 inch screen.......

I did go home quickly with my last two babies. They must have figured that at my age I didn't need to be in the hospital because they got me out right away. Madeleine's 19 hours cost $8000+ just for the hospital, (the equivalent of $11,400.00 today). They didn't even feed me, and I had to get up to get my own juice, water, ice, etc. I even kept the baby in with me the whole time because her blood sugar was low and I had to nurse her constantly to get it up. Ridiculous.

Hopefully, baby Elana had a better stay and is home and happy now!
