Most forums prohibit advertising (spam), in an effort to promote a friendly, non-commercial atmosphere. The Swap especially desires to be a home-away-from-home for our members.

Because we sell advertising on other areas of our site, it's also necessary, for the financial health of this site, to discourage advertising on the forums. Members may place links in their posts or in their signature lines, unless the link leads to a commercial site (a site with the express purpose of selling something). If you have a blog, and you happen to have some advertising in the sidebar or there's other incidental advertising in a link you've posted, that's fine.

In addition, the administration reserves the right to remove any links that, in their judgment, are not appropriate for a family-friendly site.

Members are asked to use the exclamation point icon at the upper, right of any post to report a link that concerns them.
