DS with Down syndrome has an itouch with Proloqu2Go. He loves it. We got the program just before Thanksgiving last year. We still are not sure how to make our own pages, stories etc. but we can do sentences and phrases. Ds is now starting conversations and is excited to show others his talker.

Ds was able to type out the sentence "I am happy you are home." To greet his older brother when he returned from his year tour in Iraq the end of Feb.

We have an iPad now with the proloqu2go program. We have only had it a couple weeks.

Cindy...I have many things figured out, as in the past we had a Dynavox. The ipad is way easier. I have not yet had the need to totally create an entire page of our own yet. I have mastered editing the existing ones and adding pictures. But that is all on the ipad, not sure how different it would be on the itouch.

I am not computer anything illiterate. My kids could probably figure it out but are either no longer at home or working all the time. I am slowly leaning a few things. DD still at home was trying something the other day.

Nevin uses Proloquo2Go on his iTouch. Most of his pages are created by us and use lot's of pictures. It's very easy to create new pages..... and I will try to create a simple "step by step" for you in the next few days. :) Have you watched all the tutorials on the P2G website? even if you watched them in the beginning..... sometimes that's very overwhelming..... it might make more sense now that you've had the iTouch and P2G for a while.

These seem to be really good. The VA wants to give one to David because of his brain injury. The problem is (I think), we'd be responsible for the monthly cost of it. :/

monthly cost? if he would use it on an iTouch or and iPad without 3G (i.e. not an iphone), there shouldn't be a monthly cost??

if you have wifi at home, he could still access internet with it..... or at free wifi hook-ups (coffee shops/libraries/etc.)

Thanks Laurie, I would appreciate that. I just told dh that i need to look at the them again. I am thinking of printing off the manual. I do so much better with something I can page through. The computer and I are not best buddy's. Dh and kids get so tired of showing me how do do something, and I have no idea even though I have written down each step.

J did erase the whole thing about a month ago. I did get it back on all by myself, family was surprised. I have lots of ideas of things I want to put on just afraid to try I guess. Their website said they were going to have some training classes, but non are around here. The Univ. of MN Duluth, is suppose to be working on one. At least that was what I was told last Dec. Nothing yet, I called them the beginning of June.

Are they giving you just a machine of some kind with speech help or they giving you Proloqu2Go. The program is around $200 plus tax. Then the I touch is also around $200 you only need one with 3 G. If you want to see James let me know. You can both come over here some evening or I can bring it over there. It is still mostly the original program as I have not figured out much on it.

Maybe if you have the info on Proloqu2Gop they will give you the $ to purchase it, the I touch and some type of external speaker to make louder for others to hear.

They would give him an iPad just to organize his life--no other program that I know of.

And I didn't realize we wouldn't have to pay for 3G service. I thought it was mandatory. We do have wifi at home and at his office.
