Just curious

I said I do, but we switch off. If we're going out to dinner at night, I usually like for him to drive so I can relax. But I'm mostly a "control freak" when it comes to driving. I only feel safe if I'm behind the wheel or if he is, so I drive most of the time, especially during the day.

I rarely drive when dh is in the car. He makes me nervous.

I have always been the one to drive but now anytime my bf and I go somewhere he drives and it doesn't bother me a bit (actually I like it).

Thankfully my dh does most of the driving. If I'm in the mood to drive though he has no problem. In fact he is willing to do all the driving to Maine in the fall! (yay!)

I prefer he drives because I hate it when he tells me how to drive.

Heh...when I was married, I preferred to drive because the ex was a poky and unsafe driver due to his depth perception issues. Still, he did drive a good part of the time.

Do you mean on trips or just to the store or what? We both do pretty equally so I can't vote.

If dh is in the car, he drives. I don't like to drive when he's in the car, and he prefers it that way too.

I couldn't vote either. I prefer to drive but so does dh. So...it is the first one out to the car and behind the wheel who gets to drive :-)

If the weather is bad then dh always drives. If he is tired in the evening (since he gets up very early) then I offer to drive. I did drive part of our trip to Florida. Before when I needed anti-anxiety meds (for depression too) I could not drive in any type of med/heavy traffic or drive somewhere unfamiliar. Now I can drive in most situations.

That's really funny--we're that way!!

I always drive. Since Lyle drives for a living he has no desire to drive when he's home. Also, I'm very much a control freak when it comes to driving. It's just easier on us all if I do it myself. :P That drives the boys nuts because they always want to practice driving and I just can't let them.

I do the driving. Not because I want to but Harry has to drive an hour and a half to and from work each day. So he hates
to drive.

I am an excellent passenger side driver! Dh tells me every time I stamp the floor with my foot, he'd have no idea to hit the brake without that warning. ;)

Seriously, he normally drives. I don't care to unless I have to. On long trips, I do spell him if necessary, but he usually prefers to drive.

Mark used to do most of driving. Then he began falling asleep at the wheel so I started doing most of the driving. It was so much better than him begging me to keep him awake while he drove! I'd talk about EVERYTHING, the billboards, the trees, the other cars. He'd barely respond. It was TRUE work. :lol

Now he's on medical restriction because of the seizures. He had stopped driving due to pain anyway. He'll be seeing the neurologist soon and hopes to get his driving privileges back then.

Also, when he was so very sick with the toxic blood levels of medications, I took his keys from him. I gave him his house key and the key that unlocked and started the van but no key to drive. He doesn't even remember that time period.

Dh can't really stand anyone else driving, though he has been good about helping ds learn and gives him more chances to get experience.

Anytime we go out together dh drives. We've just always done it this way. :)

I do, it's my car and I drive. If he takes his car, he drives.
But mine is more comfortable, so we usually take mine.

I added the shared driving option, as per Sandy's request. :)

We both do. I admit, dh drives more than I do, but it's not uncommon either way.

David doesn't like my Hyundai Santa Fe, and when he drives it the power steering is much more sensitive than his 1989 Acura. As a result, he tends to overdrive it, making all of us a bit ill (esp Madeleine who has gotten carsick in the past). It all evens out--I don't like driving his Acura either. :P

We share. I hate driving, period, but on longer trips I will do highway to give husband a break.

I used to love driving. Now, in the middle of big cities, I don't like it. I don't care for night driving either (on trips, that is--I don't mind driving at night to pick up Madeleine, for example).

I do love taking old highways and looking for historical stuff instead of the interstates.

After I have dressed the kids, packed a snack for the road, made sure the house will be tidy when we return, double-checked the schedule, restocked the diaper back, fastened the kids in the carseats, turned out all the lights and locked up the house . . . he drives. ;)
