I think I broke through

Postby Stacy » Sat Apr 21, 2012 8:34 am

I have been stuck at having lost 17-20 pounds for about the last six months. I was beginning to think I'd never get any lower.

Then I got a really bad sinus infection and my allergies have been horrible this spring. I had a full week where I was so sick that I just couldn't work out.

Once I kicked into gear again, I noticed that I started dropping weight, as well as inches. I dropped 6 pounds in 15 days. So the next time I plateau, I think I might try taking a week off and seeing if that will kick-start my body into losing weight again.

I'm loving seeing this much-flatter tummy! I tell dh to look at how flat my tummy is, but his eyes always go a bit higher. LOL!

Good for you! Congratulations. I've been walking and walking, now that the weather is better (we had snow today, though!). I don't know if I've lost weight, but I got into some jeans I couldn't wear a while ago.

That's a great feeling when you fit into jeans that were once too tight! Good for you!

One thing my mom has always stressed is that while you may not lose actual weight, if you are losing inches, that is what really counts.

I deliberately don't weigh myself. I was hooked into that when I had my eating disorder, so now I try not to weigh (don't own a regular scale--my only scale is about 65 years old!). I have to be weighed every two months when I go in for my thyroid check, so I go more by how my clothes fit.

I understand your issues due to past history. :-) And good for you for realizing that it's not a good habit for you to weigh yourself.

For me, it's been interesting to weigh myself every day for the Wii Fit. Seeing how that after-supper snacking can really pack on the pounds, it has motivated me to cut back. Also, it's been interesting to see how the high-sodium suppers can cause such fluctuation in your weight.
