Trying to update Windows Live Essentials

For the umpteenth time I am trying to update Windows Live. I don't know why I keep trying; I guess I think it will happen someday. I've been able to ignore it but my internet is now crashing more often.

This is the message that appears when I try and download it:

You already have a different build flavor (I hope Jamoca Almond Fudge) of Windows Live

I am running Vista; I have AVG; I have done a disk cleanup with enough room for Windows Live and it still won't update. H-E-L-P please.

try opening the Control Panel, and select 'Uninstall a Program' from the lower left corner, and remove your current version of Windows Live Essentials.
That should help you out

When I go to uninstall Windows Live Essentials it only comes up with uninstalling Windows Live Messenger....is that program the problem? Thank you for your help! And if I uninstall it will I be able to get it back when/if I can install the Windows update Live Essentials? I'm probably not making sense.
