VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Our family is relocating . . . our Swap family, that is! Amy and I have been working very hard getting our new home in order.

The truth is, The Swap's forum software is quite old and support is not provided for it any longer. Two forums have been corrupted in the recent past. To avoid everyone waking up one morning and finding NO SWAP, Amy and I have decided the time to evacuate is now, while we still have time to take all of our "belongings" with us.

We know change is hard, so we wanted to give you a bit of time to get used to the idea before we make the final move. We think you will like the new forum! We know everyone will feel a bit disoriented at first, just as you do the first few times you awaken in a new house. We hope you will give it a fair chance to start feeling like home!

Much of the new forum will be familiar to you. You might not know where to find a few things at first. We did try to be logical in putting things away when we "unpacked", but please let us know if you have any difficulties once you arrive. You will find a few new rooms and new toys!

When everything is ready, we'll post a link so you can take a look around the place before the final move. At that point, as always, we will be open to comments and suggestions. We are looking forward to seeing the entire Swappie family working together to make this an exciting and positive change!

Well, I'm thankful that I looked at the anouncements this morning. I've been mostly gone for so long. I was just thinking that I may have been like the lost cat. You know the one I mean. She goes out and she may or may not come back for a few days. Mom decides to move and just where is Tabby? I'll stay close to home so I won't be lost or forgotten.

The first thing that came to mind when I read this was, "Wow, that is a HUGE commitment of time and effort on the part of our administators. They're awesome for taking this step for our benefit." And so I say thank you, thank you, thank you. Sounds like good change is on the horizon.

I was on another board several years ago. Once they made a change like what we are doing now, they locked all of the threads on the old board so that people wouldn't continue posting there.
I know you gals have your hands full, but wanted to offer that suggestion, just in case you hadn't thought of it, and thought it might be a good idea.

We will, soon. Right now, a lot of people are having trouble understanding that they have to re-register on the new board, or figuring out how to post over there. They are coming here to ask. If this was locked, they would be lost.
These boards WILL be locked eventually, though. Several will be locked right away. We'll leave OTBF open until everyone is on board at the new place.

The text in the box where you type is quite small. Once you have posted it, it is "regular" sized. Is that what you mean?

I mean is there a way to make the "regular" size text appear larger over there? Here, I go to the top of my screen, click "View", go to "Text Size" and click "Medium" and end up with words large enough to see comfortably without squinting or leaning forward.. On the new board, doing that doesn't do anything to the text size (which is the size of "Smallest") and I haven't been able to locate a way on the board itself to increase the size of the text.

We can start by having everyone choosing to post LARGEST. I just posted something about the humidity and did that.
The TYPING TEXT screen is still tiny though.

EDITing to ask if it's the "Default" that can be changed.

So, it sounds like you are using your browser settings to do that instead of The Swap's forum settings. Some forums are immune from browser settings. Let me experiment over there a bit. If you are used to the larger font, a normal font would be uncomfortable.
