I sorta inherited a silver teapot set. My dad had given it to his parents for the 25th wedding anniversary ~ when they passed away, he got it back and now has passed it on to me. I wasn't really sure what to do with it. I really don't have a good place to display it and I would never use it as a teapot. Last night while tooling around the internet, I saw a darling teapot lamp. I thought it would be nice to repurpose my teapot as a lamp which I could use! Here's a pic(you'll have to scroll down a little to see it) of what I want to do:

http://lavenderhillstudio.blogspot.com/2009/07/beautiful-vintage-silver-teapot-lamp.html

I found an article about how to do it and Ray says we have the technology . So, as soon as I can get the parts.....

storage suggestions for odd-shaped shelf space?

I've just bought a used oak entertainment center/display unit, and whereas I'm overall very pleased with it, I'm having trouble deciding what to do with a large, tall space that apparently was designed for LP record storage, with no shelves, down close to the floor. I don't have any oversized books or photo albums that need a different storage solution than their current ones.

I have a dog, so fragile stuff or plants (real or artificial) are out. I don't want plastic bins in there (although I did think that in earlier years that would've been the first choice, for toys and games!).

The dimensions are 16"W x 25"H x 16"D.

I'm a rather spartan "decorator", which is the Japanese influence, undoubtedly... but am wondering what brainstorms you might offer?

Thanks!

Repair a rusted out skillet?

I may have already posted about this before. I know I meant to, but can't remember if I did or not. I thought about putting it in Cyndy's hydrogen peroxide miracle worker thread, but was afraid it would get lost in there.

I have a very large skillet I inherited from my mother, that went through their house fire. Someone please stop me if they've heard this (I seriously think I did post about this, but can't remember the answers, if there were any). It's extremely heavy, like a cast iron, but looks and feels like stainless steel. I think it's a Caphalon. It had a rust spot from the fire, which has not prevented me from using it, except now, that has apparently developed into a tiny hole. The last time I cooked something in it, the liquid seeped out the hole. Does anyone know of any repair method?

I thought we recently talked about this but cannot remember in what thread it would be in. Some olive oil spilled onto my jeans this evening (from my sandwich). What's the best way to get rid of this oil stain?
