At what age did you start?

What programs have you tried?  What do you like or dislike?


I am thinking about foreign language.  I don't know what the perfect age is to start.  I know the younger the student the more easily they will grasp the language.  But I don't know what programs are for elementary-aged kids.  For adults I know Rosetta Stone is very recommended. It's the only at-home program a local major global corporation uses for its employees. Well, it's part of the school system thing that we started this year.  She's going to 2 classes at the school, once we are out of the HIGH flu incident area.  They want her to take 4 classes so that the school system will be compensated.  

She'll be trying to do the second 2 classes using this PLATO system.  Since she's almost done with her Grammar book, I chose for her to do the class called Fundamental Writing Process and Practice which includes grammar.  

And - since I have her do two MATH assignments, I chose a math class: Math Expeditions C with Skills Inventory.  She's signed up for C & D since we are not sure where she'll hit in the program.  

She does not have to DO any of it, just be signed on.  

Just for fun I had her signed up for  Basic Skills for the Real World.  I've not been able to start any of these things so what I've said is all I know now.   Hopefully EG will feel better later or tomorrow and we will look into this together. ]]> Mon, 16 Nov 2009 16:01:53 TamieJP
