voted "other."
We sometimes use the canned jellied stuff, sometimes make it fresh. It all depends on the time crunch we're on. I like the fresh cranberries, grapes, walnuts and whipped cream "salad" too! |

| It's a global modification. You can't undo it. I have a thread posted on the Eblah forums help pages to see if there is something that can be done. |

A job that dh has applied for, applications date has just passed. It is a job he really wants, ideal for him in so many ways. Please pray he gets this.
Also, if he gets that I am thinking that maybe I should get a small part-time job. I can't earn enough to help whilst dh is on benefit (they would take off more benefit than I could earn) but when dh gets a job, we will need an amount to make up - when you come off benefits there is a gap when you lose ALL benefits but don't make enough to cover that loss - making it almost not worthwhile getting jobs!
I'm not sure how much I could physically DO - I haven't worked out the home for about 25 years, I could do something like Receptionist at a local ER - maybe 3 nights a week. Or filling shelves at a local supermarket over night. I prefer the ER idea, but there is nothing at the moment. Maybe you could pray that we will deal with this and finally get on top of things.
A christian insolvency type company is helping us deal with creditors etc. has come up with a budget - it allows us a 3p excess (think 3c) per month! So our debt could be cleared in just over 19,000 years!!!! That is the main reason for us trying to earn more!

| I grew up having canned (I don't eat it). Dh likes to make it from scratch. When we have Thanksgiving with my sister she still has the canned along with dh's. |
|
|
| I hope I can figure out how to undo the extra stuff. I find it a bit overwhelming to see so much on the board, and it takes up so much of my screen that I can't see who posted it. |

| Praying for you in this. I know it sounds tacky but have you tried one of these 'friends' internet sites. A friend of mine in Kenya was feeling much the same and on a CHristian site asked for friendship and now has a really good friend who visits her in Kenya and she holidays with when she is in England. I can help, but don't know if there is anything there that is any good. |

| I have the cheapest ones I could find - Aldi's. I can't believe I've had no trouble and so many of you have. None have burned out yet; I think I'm on three years with the first ones?.... and I get enough light to see, just not enough to read for the first 2-3 minutes. And that's only when it's less than 60 in the house. |

| I got one too, today! I helped an elderly lady on the highway several weeks ago, glad to do it, but today I got a small gift card from Target from her. I'm embarrassed, I was glad to do it. |
|
|
| Mine also shows the extras - not too sure I can do all the suggestions - this isn't my computer, I'm borrowing it and I have no idea how to put those things on or take off or whatever; and I don't want to fiddle too much in case I make things worse! I'll just try to get used to it and maybe one day when dh is free, I'll try to ask him to deal with it. I'm such a wimp! |

I'm sorry, guys.... |

| So funny! I really don't like cranberry anything but always put a little on my plate to make my mom happy. Hers is homemade of course. I was pretty surprised to find out that my mother-in-law who cooks everything from scratch actually uses the kind that comes from a can. That I pass on and eat her homemade cooking. |

This is great!
As much as I am against the PC "Happy Holidays" stuff going around, I do tailor my greeting to the person based on the religion he practices. It's my way of acknowledging that I care about them and how special their holiday is to them. However, if I don't know the person's religion, it's definitely "Merry Christmas". |

If I must eat it from a can, I prefer the gelled kind with the ridges to the canned 'whole' cranberry sauce. I can't imagine having to eat it from a can, though. |
|
|
| I voted for the stuff in the can. I never knew people made their own until a few years ago when a friend brought it for our dinner. It was good but just not the same without the ridges! ha |
|
|
| Renna's post made me question: Who on the swap makes their own cranberry sauce and who believes true cranberry sauce comes from a can and has ridges? |
|
|
Well, I tried what everyone mentioned and still not working on my firefox. UGH... I guess I'll have to use a different browser for the swap.

I think the hairstyle Jamie Lee Curtis has looks great on her. Not so much on her Activia commercials but in the Freaky Friday movie I think she looks incredible!!
I think Jamie Lee is aging very gracefully.
I wonder if Kelly has false teeth, perhaps? I know that can cause some people's cheeks to have that sunk in look.
I'm not aging well, either, Shelly. My mom has. People have asked us if we're sisters. That makes her feel good. Me, not so much. |

My Norton 360 flagged the site where the picture is as an unsafe site (after I was already there, of course... ) |

I have the iGoogle page set up with a number of widgets, among which is Transparent Language's Italian word a day. It's available in other languages, too, and I just click on it to hear the word, and on the phrase below it to hear it in the sentence that is printed there. I'm finding that I learn more naturally when I do a little bit each day.
There's a local guy that wrote the "Behind the Wheel" language learning curricula, too, that I just read about in the paper this week. Don't know if it's any good, though. |

| My Firefox is 3.5.5 (not 5.0 as stated earlier -- I was looking in the wrong place). |

| My dd is right, I think her parents are a big part of the problem. Maybe we should consider calling her youth pastor again, Sweetie? I'm praying for her! |

Well, I had a dreadful time....signed in, signed out, shut things off, on again, played with settings, finally couldn't stand it any longer and switched to IE for the swap - everything else Mozilla.
After reading Jemek's troubles thot I'd try one more time and guess what - all is well. So I'm off to remove IE again and just use Mozilla.
Hope everyone else can work things out because those underlines are horrible.
Oh, and I am running 3.5.5 |

I am so glad that I have who I have in my life. Hard to believe he's been around for 3+ years now.
I pray someone just as special for Sherri and Gina. |

Does signing out of the Swap and signing back in change the view at all, Jemek?
Nope..I tried that also.

I am interested in learning the Latin and Greek especially since we seem to be more English-brained. I only took a required semester of Latin in 7th and 8th grades. In fact, I'd be interested in learning along with the kids. I'm going to need to look into your suggestions, Katharos.
And for a speaking language, my bff is French and I could easily get her to speak to the kids for a real life conversation. I may consider Rosetta for that. I understand a lot of the language froom growing up with her and being with her family for so many vacations, overnights, study days etc. I am hesitant to speak it though because I know how silly my accent must sound |
