ANTELOPE VALLEY SILK FUDGE
1/2lb. butter (marg. won't work as well)
1 can evaporated milk
4 & 1/2 c. white sugar
24oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
12oz. milk chocolate (chips or chopped bar)
1pt. marshmallow cream
generous dash real vanilla
1/2 to 1 & 1/2 cups chopped walnuts (opt)
In a LARGE bowl (for heat transfer, use stainless if you have one), put in order; semi-sweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate, marshmallow cream, and top with nuts. Don't stir yet!
In a large dutch oven put butter, evaporated milk & sugar. Stir one direction constantly over medium heat. Boil for 8 minutes. Carefully add vanilla (it will bubble up and sputter) and stir. Pour boiling syrup over the filled bowl and stir like crazy with a sturdy spoon. When everything is melted and well mixed, pour into a 13x9" cake pan. Cool and slice in 1 & 1/2" squares.
(The fudge will be about 1 & 1/2" thick, so you can put it in a larger pan if you want.)
