Cream:
3/4 C. shortening
1 C. brown sugar
1/4 C. molasses
1 eggAdd:
2 1/4 C. flour
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. clovesForm into balls and place 2" apart on a cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 6-8 minutes. Keep in 'tupperware' and these will stay soft. This makes about 4 dozen little cookies.
My daughter made these for the county fair and won a blue ribbon. I also volunteered to bring 12 dozen to a recital in December. (AM I NUTS?!! :-0 I plan to prepare the batter early and roll them up and then freeze the little balls. Then all I will have to do on the day before is to bake them.
