I am sending a family tradition not just a cookie recipe. This has been with our family for at least three generations. It was passed to my mom by her birth mom then they both taught me one year. I love these and so I sent you all them.
Now if my children had their way I would have sent the peppermint pinwheels. That is their fav. But I am sending this.Cranberry Cookies
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 1/2 cups coarsely chopped cranberries
1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons orange juice
1 cup chopped pecans or other nuts
1 egg
3 cups all-purpose flour
*powder sugar (save to end)In a large bowl beat butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar until mixed. Stir in milk, orange juice and egg. Mix in salt, baking powder, baking soda, flour, cranberries and nuts.
Drop dough by teaspoonfuls, about 2 inches apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 375 degree for about 10 to 15 min until done. When cooled sprinkle with powdered sugar.![]()
