Fruit Chewies shared by Toni
Raisins are listed as an ingredient but not mentioned in the directions (obviously they are just added in). I'm hoping it will be a healthy alternative to snack foods that my kids will enjoy (us too).
Mom's Fruit Chewies
2 medium ripe bananas
2 egg whites
1 cup chopped or ground dates
1 1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup raisins
In large bowl, mash bananas, leave small chunks, should be 1 cup
Mix in egg whites then chopped dates. Mix thoroughly until dates are
thoroughly coated and separate. Stir in oats. When all oats are
moistened, set aside sto rest for 10 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350F and spray cookie sheets
using two teaspoons, place spoonfuls of dough onto pan, flatten with
back of spoon.
Bake 20 - 25 minutes or until edges are golden. Let cool on pan a
couple minutes before removing with a spatula. Cool then store in
airtight container. Store in refrigerator or freeze.
