Granola-20 cups

10 cup old fashioned oats
1 cup wheat germ
1/2 pound shredded coconut
1 & 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1- 1/2 cups water
3/4 cup vegatable oil
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup molasses
1 & 1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons cinnamon
3 teaspoons vanilla extract

2-3 cups assorted nuts and seeds (opt)
2-3 cups dried fruits (opt)

*Preheat oven to 300 degrees. *In a large bowl combine oats, wheat germ,
coconut and any assorted chopped nuts and seeds. Mix well. *In a sauce
pan combine brown sugar, water, oil, honey, molasses, salt, cinnamon and
vanilla. Heat until sugar is dissolved but do not boil. *Pour syrup mix over
dry mix and stir until evenly coated. *Spread onto five medium or three
large baking sheets with sides. *Bake 20 to 30 minutes, stirring
occasionally. (If you like it crunchy, bake an additional 10 minutes) *Cool
*Add dried fruits. *Put in airtight containers. Store in a cool, dry place. Will
keep 6 months.

For assorted nuts we use pecans and sunflower seeds or sesame seeds and
almonds. For fruit we use dates or raisins and dried apples.
