I don't really have a "recipe" but a "way" of making it. Wanna hear it? OK!
I brown 2-3 lbs. of ground beef, a large onion, 2 large cloves of garlic and some chopped green pepper. I add 2 cans of kidney beans and one can of black beans. Add 4-6 qts of tomato juice, not sauce. (Depending how you like it, thick or soupy) Add 2 t. salt. Dump in a bunch of chili powder, I use about 4 tablespoons, and some cumin, about 2 tablespoons. Simmer it all day. Just before serving I add about 1/2-3/4 of a cup of brown sugar. Everyone here loves it!Here's another recipe my mom used to make. I don't know if it's really "chili", but it's similar. Maybe like "Taco Chili?" She would brown about 5 lbs. of ground beef and add tomato sauce until it's really thick, not soupy. Add sesonings like chili powder, salt and cumin, if you like cumin. Simmer. Scoop this meat mixture into a bowl and top with diced onions, cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese, and corn chips (like Fritos). I think that's all that was on it. It's really good and filling, too.
